Stellenbeschreibung

In your role as Regional Processes, Optimisation & Governance you will responsible to:
  • Ensure that global DB Schenker Ocean standards and guidelines for the operational execution are aligned with latest governmental and industry regulations applicable in the Region.
  • In close collaboration with Global Ocean Freight Governance keep abreast of relevant industry and governmental regulations related to Ocean Freight.
  • Evaluate regulations regarding their impact on DB Schenker operations and existing processes, policies, and guidelines, as well as on IT requirements.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to revise, update and amend processes, policies, and guidelines to reflect latest regulations.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define business requirements resulting from regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure internal governance for embargo countries, sanction list screening, high-risk commodities such as prohibited and restricted commodities, high value/vulnerable cargo, and dangerous goods in collaboration with Regional Compliance and Global Governance.
  • Provide structure and content for the education of DB Schenker Ocean staff on regulatory aspects of their work in the Region.
  • Support the definition of training curricula and the development of training content.
  • Communicate relevant regulatory related updates and developments to the DB Schenker Ocean Freight Organization.
  • Validate other Ocean Freight training contents with respect to regulatory, operational, and commercial standards.
  • Support Global Ocean Freight Governance in defining and maintaining operational standards and governance, comprising SOPs creation, KPIs compliance and audits.
  • Provide consultancy for country business processes and requirements; closely work with the Ocean P&S Production Systems team to validate change requests with respect to regulatory, commercial, and operational compliance
  • Support countries in implementation of ACR (Advance Cargo Reporting); provide guidance as required
  • Vetting of Country Ocean Freight SOP

To be successful in the above role, the incumbent should possess/display the following key skills/ attributes:
  • Experience in and knowledge of Ocean Freight regulatory aspects.
  • Proficient in Business Process Management competences.
  • Solid business understanding / business administration competence
  • Broad knowledge in freight forwarding and logistics
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with strong presentation and facilitation skills (proficiency in Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons and risks) while providing thought leadership to sponsors/stakeholders in solving business process and/or technical problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer centric attitude, ability to deal with cultural diversity.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years work experience in ocean freight forwarding
  • Proven experience in defining and deploying best practice processes and in identifying solutions from a people, process, and technology perspective.
  • Solid experience in requirements gathering, including experience in creating process documentation.
