Position Description Summary

The BI Analyst/Project Coordinator will work with the Sales Management team to develop innovate solutions and initiatives by transforming data into insights that drive business value leveraging data analytics, data visualization and data modeling techniques and technologies. This role will support client retention and new business acquisition initiatives across all products. As the BI Analyst/Project Coordinator, your responsibilities would include statistical analysis, BI reporting, dashboard development, project coordination, risk analysis, forecasting, and systems process optimization.

Principal Accountabilities

BI Reporting
•Design, customize & schedule BI reports of varying complexity via SAP BO
•Create and automate ETL processes leveraging ERP, TMS & WMS system feeds
•Work with the Key Account Management team to develop operational SOP’s, KPI’s & OTP metrics for different levels of client visibility (Shipment, Container, PO, SKU, etc.)
•Aggregate financial data from various systems and develop landed cost reports
•Develop exception management processes and validate inbound/outbound customer EDI/API messaging
•Track innovative technology trends and industry initiatives to better leverage big data use cases

Dashboard Development
•Design dynamic web-based dashboards aggregating data from internal systems (TMS & WMS) and be able to query that information against the customer’s ERP system
•Translate large data sets into information that can be used to make both profitable and cost-saving business decisions
•Conceptualize and transform Excel reports into interactive Tableau and PBI dashboards
•Develop reusable frameworks and templates for different use cases by the business

Statistical Analysis
•Build statistical models to forecast client behavioral & shipping patterns as well as potential shipment delays based on TMS milestones & carrier EDI/API feeds
•Map “present” vs “future” customer supply chain models to articulate efficiency gains & cost-saving initiatives
•Using supply chain software run different simulations/models for customers to better understand their end-to-end supply chain and help them identify areas for optimization/improvement (i.e. geocode and map client shipping patterns, perform center of gravity analysis, heat mapping, route/network optimization, etc.)

Knowledge and Skills

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university along with 3+ years of work experience
•Experience in developing Data Visualization dashboards in Tableau, Power BI or equivalent
•Understanding of data modeling techniques and the ability to read/write SQL queries
•Experience working with multivariate, non-structured and disparate data sources/universes in SAP BO
•Must be highly proficient in MS Excel (VBA, advanced functions, etc.) and be able to work with large datasets
•Must have working relational database knowledge (MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, MS Access, etc.)
•Proficient with statistical software and reporting interfaces such as R, SAS or MATLAB
•Experience using data handling and modeling packages such as R and Python
•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
•Basic knowledge of Project Management practices (any PMI certification is an asset)
•Must be extremely detail-oriented and customer focused
•Excellent creativity, problem solving, client interaction & communication skills
•Programming knowledge/experience is an asset (Java, JavaScript, Python, C++, etc.)
•Knowledge of Big Data open source software is an asset (Hadoop, MapReduce, etc.)
