We are currently looking for you to join ""Digital Rail Germany"" by DB Netz AG in Berlin.

Your Tasks: 

  • Designing and setting-up of network environments used for large-scale prototyping projects as well as simulation and lab environments established in the context of highly automated future rail operation
  • Hereby designing of the system configuration, managing the system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
  • Maximizing network performance by monitoring, troubleshooting network problems, and planning upgrades
  • Modeling of network configuration and operational data in a platform neutral structure (JSON and/or YAML)
  • Developing testing platforms to detect network configuration inconsistencies before changes are made
  • Securing network systems by setting and enforcing policies as well as defining and monitoring access

Your Profile:

  • Degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar
  • At least 3 years of professional experience with data center setup, migration, and scripting
  • Know how with modern network technologies, and ideally of Cloud technologies or software defined networking
  • Know how with IP networking, L2/L3 network protocols (spanning tree, OSPF, BGP), LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, QOS, VLAN, ACL, SNMP, syslog, VPN, application data flow
  • Experience in the usage of Linux services and protocols, ideally Open Network Linux 
  • Very good command of the English language
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
