The 3 master technician role will be a central role, based in Midlands Central region These roles will be mobile to undertake diagnostic and repair of new and old technology vehicles throughout your region; ensuring efficient diagnostic and repair to deliver optimum reliability. Collaboration with fellow Master Technicians across the UK Bus will be essential in supporting the drive to improve depot fleet performance.

The Master Technician role will be a central role based in the North Engineering Region and mobile to undertake

  • Provide efficient and effective diagnostic and repair support to all garages
  • Use knowledge and trends to identify potentials for improvement
  • Ensure any repairs are legally compliant
  • Support garages in achieving regions KPI’s, e.g. reduce lost mileage, achieve high levels of reliability, and make run out every day
  • Delivery / achievement of personal KPIs
  • Have an excellent knowledge of new technology vehicles – Diesel, electric hybrids, full electric and Biogas powered vehicles
  • Knowledge share and support any training throughout the garages
  • Ensure all maintenance is carried out to Arriva’s high standards
  • Attend and support engineering training along with Apprentice development

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Qualifications / experience in the use of Volvo Tech Tool, Cummins Insite, Jaltest, Mercedes SD Connect, MANcat (Desirable but ongoing training will be provided)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience following apprentice period. (Essential)
  • An excellent knowledge of DVSA requirements. (Essential)
  • Experience of commercial maintenance and repair of PCV or HGV vehicles. (Essential)
  • Full PCV license (Desirable)
