We are currently seeking a NEC Project Manager to work with us on a project in Ireland. 


Responsibilities:


  • Administer contracts and act as NEC Project Manager, ensuring full compliance with selected contract standards and terms.
  • Oversee and assure tendering and evaluation processes, including contractor appointments and review of RFI/RFT and contract amendments.
  • Review and tailor draft contracts with input from legal, technical, and financial advisors to suit project specifics.
  • Lead contractual negotiations and provide strategic guidance to project leadership.
  • Approve subcontractor appointments and documentation to meet contractual requirements.
  • Manage commercial relationships with contractors and consultants to drive service improvement.
  • Certify payments, assess Defined Costs and pain/gain share under NEC Option C, and audit contractor accounts for accurate cost capture.
  • Conduct delay damage calculations when needed.
  • Establish, define, and regularly review contract management strategies and KPI targets; maintain KPI library and oversee contractor performance evaluations and improvement plans.
  • Manage integration of systems/sub-systems for project performance, and review contractor programme submissions for acceptance.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in contract management and contract administration in rail/metro projects with at least 7 years of NEC experience
  • At least Bachelor degree (Honours Bachelor Degree)  (or equivalent) in relevant subject area e.g. Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction, project management etc.
  • NEC3/4 ECC PM accreditation 
  • Professional registration with relevant industry institutions, e.g. ChPP, or working towards re-spective registration 
  • Associate Member or Member or equivalent of an appropriate institution, e.g. MAPM, IPM
  • Knowledge of monitoring Contractors and Consultants performance 
  • Significant experience in, and understanding of, claims management 
  • Demonstrable experience of establishing Contractors and Consultants performance manage-ment frameworks 
  • Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Contractors and Consultants organisations, and experience in building a KPI library 
  • Solid experience in administrating contracts, especially NEC Contract Suite 
  • Experience in developing individual contract management strategies, and implementing those strategies
  • Detailed understanding of, and expertise in, NEC contract management particularly within the infrastructure industry; rail, tunnelling or civils/structures experience highly preferred
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience
  • Proven team leadership for small teams
  • Extensive analytical and negotiation skills
  • Strong report writing and presentation abilities
  • Understanding of Thinkproject CEMAR
