railway company with an extensive organization in Germany and projects around the world. Our company offers a technically sophisticated and customized infrastructure, mobility and transport solutions. We acquire, initiate and manage rail operations and maintenance projects outside Europe.
We are looking for you as a Rail Systems Lead (f/m/x) for an upcoming project of DB International Operations in Canada.
Join us to develop the future of North American rail travel and create a unique lighthouse project. The project on the East Coast entails developing operation and maintenance of a new railway corridor to enhance public transport in the region. We are looking for transport and mobility enthusiasts with long-standing experience in railway operations and projects in Canada or worldwide to be part of this unique project in case of contract award.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the team for rail systems including external consultants and develops the technical concept for rail systems.
- Captures and documents the assumption for all estimations.
- Works across teams to develop the content for written deliverables relevant to the department.
- Manages the deployment of staff and other resources and ensures the work provided by the team members is delivered on time and with the required quality.
- Captures local operational conditions and identifies potential for optimization.
- Identifies risks related to rail systems and proposes mitigations.
- Engages appropriate external stakeholders to support the team in consultation with the Technical Lead.
- Works with the Technical Lead to set milestones and deadlines for deliverables
Qualifications:
- You have a university degree with a technical and/or business orientation, or corresponding professional experience in strategic network planning for passenger transport with 10 years of experience.
- You can demonstrate experience in managing operational units, cross-departmental collaboration and complex projects.
- You have technical knowledge of signaling, communication, SCADA and Power / OCL Systems, maintenance technologies, and processes, etc.
- You bring knowledge of railroad operations including interfaces/influences of and on the mentioned rail systems.
- You are experienced in technical tenders in the railway sector either on the operator`s or on the bidders side.
- Based on your experience and knowledge you are able and willing to think of passenger transport as a whole.
- Experienced in developing rail systems concepts and programs.
- You are characterized by the ability to analyze complex and procedural problems, to derive measures, and to communicate and implement results in a way that is appropriate for the target group.
- Integration skills and assertiveness as well as the ability to reduce complexity characterize you.
- You have proven leadership experience as well as motivational skills, can inspirate people and bring enthusiasm for railway.
- Experience in risk/opportunity and requirements management is beneficial.
- You have work experience in an international context, you are fluent in written and spoken English and ideally also have knowledge of French.
