Tasks & Responsibilities:

·         Establish customer contact and rapport to maintain awareness of customer’s business objectives in conjunction with ongoing account maintenance.  Interact with Field Sales, Global Sales, and Vertical Market teams to create opportunities/solutions for new or existing customers

·         Acts as the nexus between the various sales teams and product management at the local, area, country, and cluster level.

·         Utilize customer knowledge to develop additional or new opportunities for defined route and/or geography

·         Qualify inquiries/bids against target market, core competency, revenue potential, company capabilities, and projected business forecast

·         Manage RFx process to include solution design concepts, deadlines, supply added information, presentation, process/status tracking

·         Create written strategic action plans for customer management and expansion

·         Responsible for supporting local sales resources and sales growth between the US and Germany, Switzerland, and Southeast Europe (DE Cluster + SEE Cluster).

·         Is a peer of, and interacts regularly with, U.S. Area Sales Directors and Area Sales VP’s and Directors in DE & SEE clusters

·         Oversee projects and business relationships, exceeding customer’s expectations.

·         Responsible for directing contractual negotiations and assisting/participating in the negotiations as necessary.

·         Responsible for sales/margin/profit growth.


Details/Specification/Explanation of the role specific skills

This is a management position. Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, specific to supply chain logistics or global transportation. Generally, prefer a minimum of 10 years of related sales supervisory or management experience.   This is primarily a sales position requiring sufficient logistics/transportation background to secure new business.
