Job description

Accountability
  • Reporting to the CIO, the Head - Enterprise Architecture and IT Strategy is accountable for the consistent and innovative overall technological and architectural development of ONxpress Operations’ IT practice.
  • Ensure that Enterprise Architecture is for the Enterprise, not just the Architects.
  • Develop, align and update the OOI IT strategy (Digital Rail Enterprise) and all associated documents and link the IT strategy to the most important business outcomes to make sure the real business problems are in the focus of all IT initiatives.
  • Developing standards for IT architectures and establishing Processes, Tools, Workflows, Frameworks, that enable fast and efficient implementation and integration of IT Systems, as well as overall consistency, maintainability and avoiding technical debts.
  • Gather, evaluate and mitigate Technology Risks and ensure overall Compliance of the IT Organisations
  • Create, align and maintain a Technology Roadmap including innovation.
  • Ensuring collaboration with other Segments and Contracting Authority to ensure common guiding principles, architectures and a seamless interaction of IT systems and architectures.
  • Driving business outcomes, empower business partners, and develop and build an effective architecture discipline.
  • Contribute to an agile, innovative and responsive organizational culture within IT.
  • Creating metrics, KPI’s and Benchmarks to show the overall performance and efficiency of the OOI IT practice and to build decisions on data, not opinion.

Responsibility
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate efficient and effective architectural frameworks, guidelines, policies and procedures to ensure overall performance and consistency of the OOI IT Architecture. 
  • Implement a strong, collaborative culture and procedures to continuously improve.
  • Collaborate with Contracting Authority, stakeholders, and other IT disciplines by setting up and facilitating Working Groups and virtual Communities of practice.
  • Ensure alignment of IT Strategy and IT initiatives with Business Objectives.
  • Reducing inefficiencies in business or IT processes related to IT Architecture and Technology.
  • Support business partners with input on IT Architecture and Technology.
  • Building the IT Architecture Discipline.
  • Create and maintain one integrated, up-to-date source of truth for all enterprise architecture related data.
  • Co-ordinates and/or leads cross-functional teams related to a variety of projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Evaluates and recommends new technologies, tools and processes to improve the efficiency and agility of the IT organization as a whole.
Experience
  • Min. 15 years of experience in IT strategy, product management, business and/or technical architecture,  stakeholder relationship management, solutions and services delivery and design roles
  • Proven senior leadership skills for orchestrating multiple complex multi million dollar, multi stakeholder products or initiatives concurrently
  • Managing client/stakeholder and vendor relationships, building collaborative partnerships and managing and coaching high-performing teams.
  • Supporting the top management by developing IT strategies and strategic roadmaps,
  • Demonstrated experience in Software Development Life cycle, Scrum, Kanban and Squads/Pods
  • Experience around working in and leading cross functional virtual teams

Competencies & Skills
  • Problem solving with excellent analytical, customer service, interpersonal, negotiation/mediation and facilitation skills
  • Strategic thinking  and tactical planning with business transformation, program/service and I&IT strategy, architecture, design and development experience in Cloud and SaaS solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and experienced in presenting to C-suite executives
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team-work, initiative/self-management, accountability, flexibility and adaptability

Education
  • Successful completion of a university degree in Computer Science or a related field

Certifications or Designations  
One or more of the following:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • Certificate in Strategic Leadership and in Strategic Enterprise Analysis and Consulting
  • TOGAF Certification
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Open Agile Architecture Practitioner
