Responsibility
- Our service planning process involves developing timetables, crew plans, and equipment rosters. Depending on your interest and skillset, you will be involved in the development and refinement of some or all of these TSP components.
- You will ensure our operational plans provide more frequent service while optimising for operability, costs, resource usage, and passenger demand.
- You will work closely with ONxpress construction experts and Metrolinx to ensure our operational plans accommodate the construction work needed to electrify and modernise the GO-Network.
- We use rail simulation software to test our timetables before putting them into action. Depending on your interest and skillset, you will help build and run simulation models in programs like OpenTrack or Trenissimo to analyse potential delay, forecast ridership impacts, and assess feasibility.
- You will help build the culture of a new team and organisation. By identifying ways, we can improve our TSP processes, and by supporting your team, you’ll foster an open and aspirational culture.
Experience
- 2+ Years in Train Service Planning, or equivalent work experience.
Competencies & Skills
- Experience in Train Service Planning, or equivalent work experience in other areas of transportation
- An understanding of railway planning and operations principles including, but not limited to:
- Any knowledge of timetabling, crewing, rolling-stock planning, and/or rail simulation.
- Any knowledge of service planning software such as Viriato, TrainPlan, Hastus, IVU, etc.
- An ability to work quickly and accurately to deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and creative skills to work in a dynamic environment and solve problems as they arise
- A collaborative mindset to work within a team of 10 - 20 colleagues.

As our Train Service Planning Specialist, you will roll up your sleeves to produce train service plans that will guide the GO Expansion Project. You will perform the core work of planning and delivering a more advanced rail system.
