Job description



  • Analyze data sets and develop basic planning criteria including ridership and demand data to develop service goals and rail operations data to define operational planning parameters such as run times dwell times and train separation times.
  • Support data analysis, perform modeling tasks, present findings, apply your technical knowledge to contribute to various stages of project development and implementation.
  • Develop rail infrastructure schematics and software databases using track charts and drawings .
  • Perform projects across the full range of planning horizons from the short-term (immediate im-plementation) to the long-term (visionary concepts) and  apply the appropriate level of granulari-ty depending on the project goals and planning horizon.
  • Transform project goals into concepts for rail service, operation, and infrastructure.
  • Author technical reports and presentations that document the project’s approach, inputs, anal-yses, assumptions, planning iterations, and findings.
  • Engage in iterative planning processes that refine and evaluate alternative concepts until ac-ceptable and feasible solutions are identified.
  • Create visualizations that communicate complicated technical matters to a non-technical audience.




  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, or related field 
  • Outstanding analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills and an innovative and entrepre-neurial mindset and aptitude to quickly grasp new concepts and effectively produce results.     
  • Passion for tackling complex challenges in mobility and railway transportation sector.  
  • Demonstrable project and research experience, including the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Highly developed written and verbal presentation and communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively, experienced in the preparation of high quality (PowerPoint) documents for senior management.  
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strong interpersonal skills.  
  • Experience in using MS-Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for performing analyses and develop-ing quantitative models. 
  • Proficiency in rail transportation planning tools such as Viriato, RailSys, and others is a plus.


We offer an annual gross salary between $70,000 and $95,000 for full-time employment, depending on professional qualifications and experience.
