Job description

As a brand manager with DB SCHENKER, you support the Global Competence Centre Brand by managing, evolving, and developing our global brand communication. Your focus is strategic project steering and planning that aligns our brand and marketing goals with the DB SCHENKER business strategy. You work closely with marketing and content managers and provide important insight into the company, customer, and the competitive environment. Facilitating global brand governance is your mission and you proactively cultivate the brand values and proposition internally from global to cluster level. 

Responsibilities:

Brand Development and Positioning
  • Develop, evolve, and execute a comprehensive brand strategy aligned with the company's values and business objectives in the logistics sector.
  • Define and communicate the value proposition of the brand and its business units within the context of logistics and supply chain solutions.
Brand Identity Management
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a consistent brand identity across all communication channels
  • Develop and evolve brand guidelines and support brand governance by conducting internal and external training. 
  • Oversee and conceptualize the development of new (sub-) brands and the impact on marketing and merchandise material.
Brand Performance Measurement
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of branding efforts in the logistics industry.
  • Regularly analyze data and metrics to assess brand performance and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
Market Research and Competitor Analysis
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities in the logistics industry.
  • Use insights to inform brand strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Brand Collateral
  • Lead the creation of compelling brand collateral, including brochures, presentations, and digital content, to promote the brand in the logistics space.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content that highlights the company's strengths in logistics services.
Digital Branding and Online Presence
  • Manage and enhance the company's digital presence within the logistics sector.
  • Implement digital branding initiatives, leveraging social media, website, and other online platforms to strengthen brand awareness.
Event Branding
  • Plan and execute branding strategies for logistics-related events, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Ensure the brand's representation aligns with the company's values and resonates with the target audience.
Brand Governance and Global Accessibility
  • Strategic development and optimization of the Brand IT Infrastructure.
  • Leverage brand and sales marketing through practical IT solutions.
Agency Steering
  • Collaborate closely with agencies on brand guidelines, strategies, campaigns, digital marketing activities, trade fairs etc.
  • Ensure timely delivery manage internal stakeholders.
Internal Brand Advocacy
  • Cultivate a strong sense of brand identity and advocacy among internal stakeholders. Leverage global brand governance from HO to cluster.
  • Collaborate with departments such as sales and operations to ensure consistent brand messaging throughout the organization.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) and equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Brand Manager, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Expertise in logistics operations and an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the logistics sector.
  • Strong creative and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate business objectives into effective brand strategies.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, and online branding.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate branding initiatives across various channels and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze and optimize brand performance using relevant metrics.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams, senior management up to C-Level.
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills with a focus on formatting and design.
  • Basic knowledge in event branding and planning
