Job description

Business Development with our global network is a key component of the Middle East and Africa growth strategy. The role encompasses responsibility for growth with the DB Schenker network as well as business development tasks across products and industries.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities:

Assumes responsibility for achieving business growth targets on agreed major trade lanes and drives business development activities with DB Schenker network countries.
Identifies, actively works on and closes significant local and network business opportunities together with respective country sales- and product teams.
Drives customer and sales related activities in cooperation with country commercial teams and product management with the aim to generate additional business.
Develops trade strategies and steers trade planning and analysis in conjunction with product teams, the network and individual country management directions.
Provides internal leads as well as business development guidance to the organization and ensures active lead management.
Facilitates communication, cooperation and a structured approach with network partners and within the MEA region, and acts as network escalation point for trade lane stakeholders.
Monitors trade lane developments, intervenes for trade lane specific issue management, conducts benchmark and best practice exercises with partner countries.
Represents MEA region: Conducts overseas sales trips and increases focus on region MEA within our partner countries.

Outstanding interpersonal competency and cultural sensitivity

Excellent communication, mediation and presentation skills
Strong business acumen, result-focused business approach
Positive and convincing attitude and an empathetic, motivating personality
Strategic and conceptual thinking with good problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across cultures and geographies
Very good command of the English language (verbal/written); Arabic is an advantage but not a must
