We acquire, initiate and manage rail operations and maintenance projects outside Europe.
We are looking for you as a Commercial Lead (f/m/x) for an upcoming project of DB International Operations in Canada.
Join us to develop the future of North American rail travel and create a unique lighthouse project. The project on the East Coast entails developing the operation and maintenance of a new railway corridor to enhance public transport in the region. We are looking for transport and mobility enthusiasts with long-standing experience in railway operations and projects in Canada or worldwide to be part of this unique project in case of contract award.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company’s commercial strategy in line with long-term goals.
- Lead commercial negotiations, ensuring profitable outcomes while maintaining long-term relationships
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., operations, finance, legal) to structure the project and proposals
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government authorities, regulatory bodies, and industry leaders
- Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient communication, problem resolution, and effective service delivery
- Oversee commercial budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
- Analyze financial results and KPIs to ensure commercial targets are met or exceeded
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in a commercial leadership role within the railway or transport infrastructure sector, with a proven track record
- Extensive experience in managing complex commercial negotiations, bids, and tenders, particularly in the railway or transportation sectors.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to identify opportunities, assess risks, and execute a vision.
- Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management.
- In-depth understanding of international railway regulations, industry trends, and commercial practices.
- Proven work experience in an international context, speaking fluently English and French
- A high degree of adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a self-starter attitude in an entrepreneurial environment.
