Tasks & Responsibilities:


1.    Financial Reporting & Compliance:


  • Oversee the preparation and timely presentation of accurate financial statements in compliance with IFRS and US-GAAP.
  • Ensure adherence to FAR 31 and other federal regulations, especially concerning Indirect Cost Rates.
  • Supervise accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
  • Manage the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.


2.    Indirect Cost Rates & FAR 31:


  • Develop, manage, and review Indirect Cost Rate proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR 31 regulations in cost accounting and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and training to the finance team on FAR 31 and Indirect Cost Rate policies and procedures.


3.    Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):


  • Support the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes in collaboration with the Senior Director, Finance & Procurement and the FP&A team.
  • Assist with financial analysis to support business decisions, including variance analysis and trend analysis.
  • Provide financial data insights as needed to aid strategic decision-making


4.    Accounting Operations:


  • Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and transactions.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax obligations, including sales and use tax filings.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing training and development opportunities.


5.    Payroll Oversight:


  • Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.


6.    Tax Compliance:


  • Oversee the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Work with external tax advisors as needed to ensure proper tax planning and compliance.


7.    Technology & Systems Management:


  • Leverage technology to improve financial reporting and analysis capabilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus.
  • Experience with Project Management Software like Kantata preferred.
  • Ensure effective use of financial systems and tools to support accounting and financial operations.


8.    Team Leadership & Development:


  • Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the finance team.
  • Lead the recruitment, retention, and development of finance staff.


9.    Strategic Financial Management:


  • Collaborate with the Senior Director, Finance & Procurement, and senior management team to support financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Support relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial stakeholders.


10.    Continuous Improvement:


  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization’s financial practices are leading-edge.


    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

    CPA certification is required.

    7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance roles, with at least 5-10 years in a managerial capacity.

    Strong experience with Indirect Cost Rates and FAR 31 is essential.

    Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems

    Experience in tax compliance, particularly with sales and use tax.

    Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

    Excellent leadership and team management skills.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

    High level of integrity and commitment to ethical standards.

    Experience in government contracting or a similar environment.

    Familiarity with financial operations in a project-based environment.

    Knowledge of modern financial management tools and techniques.


We offer an annual gross salary between $130,000 and $150,000 for full-time employment, depending on professional qualifications and experience.
