We are seeking a Deputy Project Director as part of DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, Riyadh Branch. The job opening is located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.

Responsibilities:

Report to the Client on project status including identifying associated risks and issues arising from the project delivery. Co-chaired the monthly progress meetings and kept the Study Team and Client Management informed of the study work progress.
Support in project management with focus on concept design, engineering, financial, economic, and social environmental feasibility studies of railway and roads connections.
Coordinate and bring together the various aspects of technical delivery to guarantee the proper interface between team members.
Guarantee compatibility between stages and project tasks.
Monitor progress according to the project schedule.
Communication and coordination with all team members, partners/subs/freelancers, the client, and other stakeholders.
Coordination of team efforts and leading the team in discussions with the client.
Implement Quality Assurance process & procedures to ensure highest quality of project delivery.
Ensure that the Project Team thoroughly understand the task and focus solely on meeting the client's needs to avoid any unnecessary work.
Ensure that the development and implementation of project procedures and plans are executed.
Represent DB E&C’s interests and bring the Project to successful completion and handover phase.
Identifying technical resource requirements and ensuring the mobilization and deployment of such resources to support the delivery of the Project.
Ensure Health, Safety, Security & Environment, Quality Assurance and Waste Management requirements are fulfilled.
Develop an effective and robust risk management strategy to ensure that project risks are identified and managed effectively throughout the project.
Develops detailed cost plans, monitors the overall project budget, and provides regular financial performance updates.
Ensure that an effective change management procedure is developed and implemented.
Ensure the successful implementation of an effective reporting system aligned to the best practices of DB E&C.

Qualifications:

Preferred Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related field.
At least 25 years of experience in infrastructure projects, including at least 15 years of experience in railway projects. Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams.
Professional registration or chartership preferred.
Have working experience in KSA or another GCC country.
Solid understanding and track record in program management, design review and construction supervision railways project.
Track record in resource planning, quality and safety management, customer, and stakeholder management, etc.
Demonstrated initiative, drive, leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and quest for optimization.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well organization and planning skills.
Ability to work in a cooperative team environment, with stakeholders from very different fields.
Excellent communication skills – fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Arabic language communication skills will be an advantage.
User skills in MS Office applications MS Projects and/or Primavera.
Driving license required to drive to site or to technical meetings with the client representative.
