Job description

SOM - Service & Operations Management Function is responsible for the overall orchestration, control and management of service delivery processes across all services and service providers to enable service management and seamless delivery of end-to-end services within SLA.

The Global Asset & Configuration Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for the overall management of the Asset & Configuration Management process and its activities as well as for the CMDB structure and data model and the alignment of those topics with related stakeholders. This includes also the global implementation of the Asset & Configuration Management and the management of related roles (i.e. Asset and Configuration Analysts and Owners). He/she is an IT responsible who defining the structure of the configuration management system, including service assets and CI types, naming conventions, attributes and relationships and ensure the integrity of the asset repository /configuration management system, including the service asset - and CI data model and relationships. He/she will work with a team of technical and non-technical team members to manage the configuration, implementation and maintenance of a CMDB in a fast-paced organization. The Global Asset & Configuration Manager (m/f/d) reports directly to the Head of Global IT Service & Operations Management.

Your tasks
  • Responsible for the execution of the Process (directly perform or delegate responsibilities) which includes 
    • operating the defined and agreed process; ensuring it interfaces with all other relevant processes; managing the day-to-day activities of the process
    • ensuring operating procedures are documented to support the activities and develop-ment of process modifications / improvements
    • establish the processes to manage and protect the integrity of service assets and con-figuration items through the service lifecycle
    • reviewing the effectiveness and efficiency of the process, performing process audits and managing the process improvement cycle
  • Responsible for the global rollout and implementation of Asset and Configuration Man-agement processes
  • Overall responsibility of the global IT Asset and Configuration Management system
  • Responsible for providing accurate configuration information to assist decision making
  • Responsible to ensure the introduction and maintenance of the asset inventory (CMDB)
  • Responsible for defining the structure of the Configuration Management system, including CI types, naming conventions, required and optional attributes and relationships
  • Provides guidance for maintaining Assets and CIs
  • Driving the identification, control, record, report, audit and verify service assets and con-figuration items on a global perspective
  • Coordination of tasks in relation to content change measures to configuration items
  • Definition and alignment of the service assets that will be treated as CIs and CI classes
  • Gathering and reporting on process metrics and required KPIs
  • Monitoring all information on CIs and supports the identification of products and CIs
  • Training staff in Configuration Management principles, processes and procedures
Your profile
  • Fluent in English language skills
  • High flexibility and willingness to travel internationally
  • Positive and integrative collaboration skills establishing strong supportive relationships cross all departments
  • Leadership and/or project experience to manage global rollouts and cross-functional teams
  • Typically requires 5-7 years of relevant technical and business experience in the area of ITSM and knowledge of the processes of service management esp. Asset an Configura-tion Management
  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience
