We are seeking a Project Controls / Planning Manager as a part of our DB Engineering Consulting GmbH Branch Office. In your role, you will part of the team responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of project planning and control activities. This individual needs to have a strong Project Planning background, schedule management, cost estimation and control and who helped deliver projects in all stages of a project cycle with delivery being key.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of project planning and controls activities.
- Checking, reviewing, and commenting on the price/forecast cost submitted by the relevant ‘Contractors’ of the different materials needed for the project.
- Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
- Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
- Procure or agree the services of ‘Contractors’ and/or ‘Subcontractors’ who work on the construction of the project.
- Measure and value the work done on site.
- Process the relevant documentation to pay subcontractors.
- Write notifications of Claims on behalf of the ‘Employer’ and respond back formally or informally to the relevant parties with relation to Contract Protocols.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills required to build strong Employer trust and reassurance.
- The ability to negotiate with the best interests of the ‘Employer’ in mind.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work so that best results are obtained.
- Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers, site engineers and other Stakeholders.
- Oversee the selection and/or sourcing of construction materials relevant to the project’s needs.
- Impeccable Risk Management & Contract Management skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management or relevant.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience as Project Controls or Planning Manager, with experience in Railway projects and other infrastructure projects.
- Cost in engineering functions, including cost estimating, control, and analysis, and planning and scheduling functions.
- Strong Project Planning background, schedule management, cost estimation and control and who helped deliver projects in all stages of a project cycle with delivery being key.
- Expert level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and commissioning work processes.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialised instruction or practical experience.
- Knowledge of contractual issues in a project environment is essential.
- Previous experience with comparable projects in Egypt is preferred and in the Middle East region.
- Fluent in Arabic, writing, speaking and reading. English language skill is an advantage.
- IT Literate and have a working knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Project Software. Knowledge in MS Office Applications, Share Point Online and MS Teams is essential.
- A mature and confident personality with a sound approach towards client representatives is vital to provide consistency in delivery.
