Responsibilities:
- Design Development: Collaborate with a team of engineers and architects to develop the structural design of railway bridges and other related structures. This involves analyzing project requirements, conducting feasibility studies, and creating conceptual and detailed designs.
- Design Compliance: Ensure that the design complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations applicable to railway infrastructure. Stay up-to-date with industry practices and advancements in structural design to incorporate the latest technologies and methodologies.
- Design Supervision: Provide supervision and guidance during the construction phase of the project to ensure that the designs are implemented correctly. Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and resolve any design-related issues or conflicts.
- Structural Analysis: Perform structural analysis using software tools to assess the integrity, stability, and load-bearing capacity of railway structures. Evaluate the impact of various factors, such as traffic loads, environmental conditions, and seismic considerations, on the design.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, and specifications related to the structural design. Maintain accurate documentation of design changes, revisions, and approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, surveyors, and contractors, to ensure effective coordination and integration of the structural design within the overall project. Participate in meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions to address design-related issues.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that the design meets the project's quality standards. Review and approve design submissions from consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to verify compliance with project requirements.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and hazards associated with the structural design and propose mitigation measures to minimize risks. Assess the safety and resilience of the structures to withstand various loads and potential extreme events.
- Project Management: Assist in project management activities, such as budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory authorities, and contractors, to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with emerging trends, technological advancements, and best practices in structural design and railway engineering. Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and seminars to enhance your knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Very good (at least B2 level2) English language skills.
- Professional qualification/education according to the Country`s legislation.
- Experience as a lead Structural/ Bridge designer in at least one fully completed railway design project over the last 10 years (2013-2023), covering the following:
- design is completed until the date of submission of the Proposal;
- 1435 mm gauge and TSI verified railway;
- design speed above 200 km/h.
