The position offers an opportunity to gain international experience and be a part of an innovative rail design team, working together to develop solutions for future railways. We are seeking for an experienced Geotechnical Design Coordinator/ Expert.
Responsibilities:
- Getting familiar with Rail Baltica Design Guidelines, geotechnical design related contract scope and current design documentation.
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of the geotechnical subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project specifications, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
- Prepare in coordination with the geodetic, geotechnical/geological, and hydrogeological subcontractors the Site Investigation Plan.
- Reporting and Quality assurance – critical review of reports and designs to ensure project quality standards are met.
- Evaluation or production of geological, geotechnical, and geo-environmental desk studies, ground investigation specifications and managing ground investigation projects.
- Reviewing geotechnical investigation reports (GIRs), ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Analysis of data and geotechnical problems related to soil and rock mechanics.
- Interpret data from field and laboratory tests to prepare design decisions and risk assessments.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders, presenting findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner
Qualifications:
- University degree in civil/geotechnical Engineering or equivalent
- Broad knowledge and understanding of civil and geotechnical engineering with practical design experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build relationships with colleagues and provide geotechnical support in key sectors.
- Proven experience in site investigation planning and management.
- Geotechnical design experience including shallow and deep foundations, settlement assessment, retaining walls, ground improvement and slope stability analysis.
- At least 10 years' professional experience in the relevant field
- Authorization to carry out geotechnical investigations in accordance with the legislation of Lithuania
- Good knowledge in geotechnical engineering in Lithuania
- Proficiency in English – B2 level minimum
- Willingness to relocate to Baltic countries for at least 2 years
