Chief Commercial Officer - Customer Satisfaction for Passenger Transport (f/m/d)

Deutsche Bahn International Operations GmbH is a part of the DB group, a world-leading global railway company with an extensive organization in Germany and projects around the world. Our company offers a technically sophisticated and customized infrastructure, mobility and transport solutions. We acquire, initiate and manage rail operations and maintenance projects outside Europe. We are looking for transport and mobility enthusiasts and entrepreneurs with long-standing experience in railway operations and projects in India or worldwide.

We are currently seeking you as Chief Commercial Officer for our Chennai Metro Phase 2 Project to build up and manage the operation and maintenance of the Chennai Metro Phase 2 with GOA4 in India. The role will include developing a local operations & maintenance (O&M) company from scratch to full operations, developing and leading a passionate and performance driven team, steering quality, performance and customer satisfaction as well as ensuring economic success in India.

Responsibilities

• Report to the CEO
• Advise on policy and strategic developments and examine business decisions to assess their impact on passengers
• Negotiate and manage contracts and develop new business opportunities
• Meet passengers and customers to deal with complaints and areas of concern analyse results of surveys on passenger/ customer satisfaction and start new projects to improve performance
• Market passenger services to encourage greater passenger use of the transit system
• Develop and implement an organizational structure for your department, managing principles and operational processes in alignment with the local company.
• Develop and implement your department strategy and prepare and implement organizational measures
• Be responsible for the observance and monitoring of the KPIs for your department set by the ordering party and implement counter measures, if necessary 
• Ensure the planning and provision of the budget of your department
• Preferable experience in setup of a new commercial department in a new company set up

Qualifications

• You have a Master´s or Bachelor´s Degree in Engineering, Transportation or Business Administration 
• You have at least 10 years of experience in Rail/Metro/Transport System
• You have at least 3 years of experience as Head of Commercial function, or in equivalent capacity out of the above mentioned 10 years.
• You shall have experience of dealing with commercial property contracts preferably at Railway station management otherwise other commercial properties 
• You shall have demonstrated in previous jobs on generating revenue through new streams
• You have strong leadership skills
• You speak English at an advanced level of written and verbal skill, and Tamil
• You possess strong analytical skills for problem solving
• You have a high strategic orientation, people management and intercultural skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively
• You have excellent negotiation skills and the ability to think conceptually 
• You must be willing to move your primary residence to Chennai Area for at least 2-3years
