We deliver railway expertise to our clients in the LATAM region and expand our team of consultants willing to acquire and deliver projects in different countries of the region. We are looking currently for a Data Engineer Railway (m/f/d) based in Medellín or Bogotá to become a part of the international team and deliver tailor-made solutions for our clients and accelerate the development of railway mobility in LATAM America.


Responsibilities:


  • Build, deploy, and maintain data pipelines, supporting smooth data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from multiple sources.
  • Design, enhance, and manage database architecture, including data warehouses, to meet both analytical and business needs.
  • Work alongside data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and develop efficient data solutions.
  • Implement and maintain cloud-based data solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with experience in data warehouse solutions.
  • Use programming languages like Python and SQL to manipulate and process large datasets.
  • Apply best practices in data engineering to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Develop and support APIs using FastAPI.
  • Troubleshoot, refine, and support data processes for consistent data flow and integration quality.
  • Support the deployment of data-driven applications, ensuring stable performance and user access.
Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or other technical studies with a focus on data engineering or data management.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering and data pipeline development, ideally in a large-scale or transport-related environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Previous experience in working for clients from the transport sector would be an asset.
  • Advanced Python and SQL for data handling and proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Expertise in database design, specifically data warehousing, with knowledge of solutions like Redshift and Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with Airflow and Pandas libraries.
  • Experience with API development and support using FastAPI as well as handling unstructured data types such as text, images, and video.
  • Deep understanding of data engineering best practices and code design patterns.
  • Skilled in communicating and presenting complex technical processes in accessible ways to both technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as proven team player with collaborative skills in cross-functional teams.
