We are seeking a Deputy Project Manager as part of DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, Qatar Branch. In your role, you will support functionally and administratively the project management with a focus on concept design, engineering, financial, economic, and social environmental feasibility studies for railway and road connections. The job opening is located in Doha, Qatar, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth

Responsibilities:

Report to the Client on project status including identifying associated risks and issues arising from the project delivery. Co-chaired the monthly progress meetings and kept the Study Team and Client Management informed of the study work progress.
Support in project management with focus on concept design, engineering, financial, economic, and social environmental feasibility studies of railway and roads connections.
Coordinate and bring together the various aspects of technical delivery to guarantee the proper interface between team members.
Guarantee compatibility between stages and project tasks.
Monitor progress according to the project schedule.
Monitor the different elements of the project with regards to time, cost & budget management within the agreed governance and use in-house applications for regular project reporting.
Manage delivery of progress project, and tasks where required update, monitor and prepare reports on progress and deliverables. Prepare project executive summary reports and project communications letter to the client in either Arabic or English language.
Manage sub-consultants and liaise with their project teams.
Communicate with the client and other entities such as stakeholders and local authorities.
Attending project meetings / workshops for technical input and follow up on actions of the project and in the absence of the project manager; Deputy project manager will take the lead role.
Maintain and monitor the project logs and highlight areas of concern to the Project Manager including follow up on document control logs’ updates and the timely sharing of information with project teams.

Qualifications:

Doctorate, Master’s/bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent.
International membership in relevant professional institution and Certified Licensure related to the task are preferred.
Minimum 10-15 years' experience in project management of concept design, engineering, financial, economic, social and environmental feasibility studies for railway and road connections, plus relevant master plan studies.
Must have 5 years or more experience in project management or senior managerial roles.
Management Staff Expertise in similar nature to this tender scope i.e. Transportation Planning Studies, Transportation Operation and Management Studies, and Transportation Regulations Studies.
Technical work, experience and has managed at least 1 - 3 similar projects.
GCC experience is a must. Qatar experiences advantageous.
Fluent in both Arabic (preferred) & English language. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role.
Analytical thinking & problem-solving skills
Technical knowledge and expertise in handling feasibility study projects and master plan projects with multi-national team members.
A thorough understanding of Qatar’s PT and land transport sectors vision to develop polices, strategies, regulations, and laws for the PT and land transport sectors.
Excellent public speaking, inter-personal skills and presentation skills
Good communication & management skills for the necessary liaison with MOT’s Land Transport Planning Department and other Government Stakeholders and private institution in transportation industry and strong leadership skills
Advanced knowledge in MS Office Applications, MS Teams and Share Point Online.
Driving license required to receive / deliver submissions from / to the client’s office in Doha
