What will you be doing?

Deliver all legislative safety reporting requirements, including managing the DB Cargo UK Accident Investigation database, Safe Insights platform entries, RIDDOR notifications, and the ORR Annual Report, ensuring data quality and timely submission. 

Oversee critical business processes such as regional driver documentation uploads, incident data management, and updates to the Competence Compliance Management System (CCMS), maintaining accuracy and completeness of HSSE data. 

Provide mentoring and support to system users, conduct regular data quality audits, and liaise with key stakeholders to enhance data integrity. 

Utilize advanced data analysis and reporting tools, including interactive PowerBI dashboards, to improve visibility of safety performance and support proactive safety initiatives. 

Manage medical and health surveillance reviews, translating findings into risk assessments and reasonable adjustments with HR collaboration. 

Provide basic health and safety advice, support procurement and property teams with safety assessments, administer company processes such as cab passes, and deliver general administration including secretariat duties for safety committees and audit follow-ups. 

Collaborate across teams to ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, legislative deadlines, and continuous improvement towards higher safety maturity. 

What are we looking for? 

We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety professional with a solid understanding of safety principles, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in Health & Safety, medicals, health surveillance, or occupational health, along with basic knowledge of RIDDOR. 

Strong data reporting skills are essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and MS Forms, with Power BI experience desirable. 

Additional strengths such as incident investigation, audit work, familiarity with HSE/ORR requirements, or knowledge of the heavy rail industry will be highly valued.  

NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification is preferred.

We are offering a salary between £30,000 - £35,000 to depending on experience based on a 37 hour per week contract.

The role can be based from any of our main locations being, Doncaster, Toton (Nottingham), Crewe or Stoke. The role of Health and Safety Coordinator ensures compliance with legislative and business-critical requirements, including RIDDOR reporting, ORR submissions, incident data management, and competency updates. The role drives safety maturity by improving HSSE data quality, enhancing performance visibility, and ensuring effective medical and health surveillance reviews to support a safe, healthy, and productive workforce.We are offering a salary between £30,000 - £35,000 to depending on experience based on a 37 hour per week contract. We offer hybrid working for this role being 2-3 days per week in the office.
