We are seeking an Infrastructure Design and Value Engineering as part of DB Engineering and Consulting GmbH, Qatar Branch. In your role, is focused on providing innovative and cost-effective design solutions for large-scale infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on optimizing value and performance. The job opening is located in Doha, Qatar and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.

Responsibilities:

Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for large-scale infrastructure projects, considering factors such as optimizing value, performance, sustainability, safety, and community impact.
Work closely with design teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure that infrastructure designs are not only functional and sustainable but also cost-efficient and deliver maximum value throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead the design process for various infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, utilities, drainage systems, and urban planning.
Provide technical expertise in the creation of detailed design plans, drawings, and specifications that meet both client needs and regulatory requirements.
Apply advanced design software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit) to develop infrastructure design models and simulations.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and environmental engineers, to integrate infrastructure systems effectively.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders to ensure the integration of designs in line with project timelines and budget.
Ensure that designs are practical, feasible, and in line with the latest industry standards.
Conduct value engineering studies and workshops to assess and improve designs, ensuring optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and lifecycle sustainability.
Identify and evaluate alternative design solutions and materials that deliver greater value without compromising quality or safety.

Qualifications:

Doctorate, Master’s/Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 15 or more years' experience in infrastructure design and value engineering, preferably in large-scale projects (e.g., transportation, utilities, or urban development)
Experience relevant to the position in projects with focus on concept design, engineering, financial, economic, social and environmental feasibility studies for railway and road connections, plus relevant experience in value engineering and optimization techniques
International membership in relevant professional institution and Certified Licensure related to the task are preferred
At least 5 years’ experience preferred in GCC locations
In-depth understanding of infrastructure system (roads, utilities, drainage, and bridges) and construction process
Fluent in both Arabic & English language. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role.
Analytical thinking & problem-solving skills
Good communication & management skills for the necessary liaison with MOT’s Land Transport Planning Department and other Government Stakeholders and private institution in transportation industry and strong leadership skills
Advanced knowledge in MS Office Applications, MS Teams and Share Point Online. Advanced design tools and software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and others) for design drafting and modelling
Experience in BIM (Building Information Modelling) and 3D modelling for infrastructure projects.
Driving license required to drive to site or to technical meetings with the client representative
