Assist the Breakdown & Recovery Supervisor and the wider team when arriving at a derailment or incident on the UK’s rail network.
Create a safe working environment in the depot and when on site
Manual handling of packing materials and jacking equipment
Undertake cutting/welding tasks as competence permits
Carry out maintenance in the depot to ensure that equipment is safe and stored correctly
Ability to utilise down time in the depot effectively
The Breakdown & Recovery Teams are required to work shifts covering a 24/7 period including bank holidays, weekends and nights.
This position is 42 hours per week. Please email the Talent Acquisition Team for a copy of the roster.

You must possess a positive working attitude.
You will also have good basic IT skills.
A full UK driving licence is required for this position.
You must be located within 60 minutes of Hoo Junction.

Breakdown and Recovery is a national service, proving safe and efficient restoration of normal running conditions on the rail network following an incident. As a Breakdown & Recovery Team Member you’ll work to the instruction of the Breakdown & Recovery Supervisor at all times.This position is based at Hoo Junction, however due to this being a national service, you may be required to travel around the UK as and when required.
