We are seeking a Rolling Stock Lead as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH KSA Branch. The job opening is located in Saudi Arabia and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the review of rolling stock tender and tender bid documents, as well as design specification and for the procurement of rolling stock including diesel locomotives for passenger and freight trains, passenger coaches and cargo wagons.
- Technical knowledge of the models of rolling stock to be procured and must be familiar with op-eration and maintenance techniques and procedures.
- Relevant experience of the rolling stock design process designed using leading-edge technolo-gy and following the highest industry standards.
- The Rolling Stock Lead is required to participate in project design reviews and approve the de-sign documentation.
- Identify design issues and eventually propose solutions and/or technical recommendations to mitigate them.
- Ensure that all works are performed according to the approved detailed design of the project (taking into consideration all sources of requirements including international standards).
- Supervise the interface management ensuring that all the interfaces are properly taking into Su-pervise the requirement management process to ensure that Customer Requirements will be floating down to Component Requirements.
- Supervise manufacturing, test & commissioning and acceptance of rolling stock, including in-spections and FAT tests at manufacturer’s premises analysing the project progress and provid-ing recommendations based upon results.
- Lead, assist and participate in general meetings on-site, and in internal discussion sessions, telephone conferences and team meetings.
- Ensure operation readiness, liaising with key stakeholders to secure orderly and successful sys-tem handover.
- Attend and lead official meetings with governmental authorities, certifying bodies, etc
Qualifications:
- University degree, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in technical/ mechanical engineering.
- Minimum Fifteen (15) years’ experience in Railway Projects particularly in rolling stock design, manufacturing or maintenance.
- International working experience in the technical supervision of rolling stock projects with Euro-pean and North American railway standards.
- Previous experience with comparable projects in the Middle East region and experience in KSA advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
- Ability to prepare detailed and effective presentations.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and provide a good level of guidance and supervi-sion to more junior staff.
- Fluent in both English & Arabic language. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role.
- IT Literate and experience with MS Office Applications (MS Office), Outlook, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Share Point Online.
- Driving license required in order to perform assigned duties.
