We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Content Writer with strong command of Adobe InDesign to elevate the quality of our technical documentation and proposal submissions in our branch in Egypt. This hybrid role bridges content development and visual design, transforming complex, technical material into persuasive, client-ready documents that align with the standards of international infrastructure, engineering, and transport projects.

This is a dynamic and multifaceted role within our agile, innovative, and international team—an ideal opportunity for a results-driven professional looking to make an impact in the railway sector.

DB Engineering & Consulting is a part of the DB group, a world-leading global railway company with an extensive organization in Germany and projects around the world. Our company offers technically sophisticated and customized infrastructure, mobility and transport solutions. With our sustainable concepts, gained from our experience in project work for decades, we ensure the future success of economic regions, make important contributions to the protection of the environment and help shape the world of the future.

We represent 180 years of rail experience, and our infrastructure projects connect continents. We set the standard for transportation and modern mobility.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and edit technical content for proposals, EOIs, capability statements, CVs, and project references.
  • Use Adobe InDesign to format and design visually compelling proposals with a focus on readability, clarity, and brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with engineers, bid managers, and subject matter experts to translate complex technical information into accessible, structured content.
  • Rework dense Word-based documents into engaging layouts using best practices in typography, design hierarchy, and information flow.
  • Create and manage templates, infographics, and document components to improve quality and production efficiency.
  • Ensure alignment with submission requirements (e.g., World Bank, EBRD, EU-PRAG) and internal standards.
  • Respond to client clarification requests and support related corporate communications such as brochures or technical presentations.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in technical writing or proposal development, preferably in infrastructure, transport, or consultancy.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign (non-negotiable); strong layout and formatting capabilities are essential.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and enhance documents through structured, user-friendly design.
  • Familiarity with international procurement processes (e.g., World Bank, EIB, UNDP) is highly valued.
  • Fluency in English (required); Arabic is a plus.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (especially Word and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with SharePoint or Salesforce is beneficial.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
