His journey with DB International began 2010 and after 12 months in the Board of Managing Directors he became the CEO and Chairman of the Board. At that time, a total of 700 employees were part of the company. However, Niko’s keen eye for potential and relentless drive saw him rapidly ascend the ranks. His leadership transformed the organization, growing it to a sprawling enterprise with around 9,000 employees now across various sectors of the DB E.C.O. Group.

“This journey has been my passion, my ‘baby,’ so to speak,” he reflects. “I thrive on challenges and constantly focus on understanding the needs of our customers and stakeholders.”

A key accomplishment has been the creation of robust product portfolios, with a particular focus from design, construction over to operations. "Investments in infraView and ESE Engineering und Software-Entwicklung provided a stable foundation for the digitalization in our business," he explains, "allowing us to develop new products and services that were previously out of reach."

Managing operations across highly regulated environments like Germany has been no small feat, and he takes pride in adapting to these challenges while also navigating the complexities of less developed markets. His ability to balance the demands of these contrasting landscapes has been a cornerstone of his success.

One of Warbanoff’s most culturally significant projects was the Doha Metro in Qatar, a landmark initiative where he was personally involved from the early stages of design through to commissioning.
