We are currently seeking RAMs SMEs with significant experience in high-speed rail or similarly complex systems. 



Responsibilities:

  • Support the O&MA Manager in the delivery of all operations and maintenance advisory services.
  • Provide Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) expertise across all railway subsystems, including infrastructure, rolling stock, operations, and signalling/telecoms.
  • Support the development and implementation of the project-wide RAMS strategy for high-speed rail operations.
  • Establish RAMS requirements and ensure alignment with relevant European and international standards (e.g., EN 50126/8/9).
  • Lead RAMS analyses including FMEA, FTA, hazard identification, risk assessments, and RAM allocation.
  • Ensure RAMS activities are integrated into design, operations, and maintenance concepts.
  • Support the preparation of safety cases, RAM demonstration reports, and regulatory submissions.
  • Engage with engineering, operations, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure a fully integrated systems approach.
  • Identify RAMS-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to support operational and safety objectives.
  • Provide technical assessments, progress reports, and guidance to project leadership and the client.



Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in RAMS engineering, ideally in high-speed rail (>250 km/h) or similarly com-plex rail systems.
  • Strong understanding of RAMS methodologies and relevant international standards (EN 50126/8/9, CSM-RA).
  • Ability to perform RAMS analysis techniques such as FMEA, FTA, hazard analysis, and RAM allo-cation.
  • Experience integrating RAMS into operations, maintenance, and system design.
  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or another RAMS-related field.
  • Proven experience with regulatory processes and safety case development.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to work in Australia several times a year on a monthly or weekly basis
