Responsibilities:
- Provide site-based engineering and construction supervision services during project delivery.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
- Support project teams in coordinating contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Assist in the management of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements on site.
- Review construction records, method statements, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
- Identify and escalate technical, commercial, and programme-related risks and issues.
- Initiate inspection, witnessing and acceptance of works
- Support testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out activities.
- Prepare progress reports and contribute to project performance reporting.
- Participate in site meetings and provide technical advice to project stakeholders.
- Support the resolution of construction and technical issues during project execution.
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in construction supervision, site engineering, or project delivery within infrastructure, transportation, rail, utilities, or major civil engineering projects.
- Understanding of construction processes, quality assurance, and contract administration.
- Familiarity and experience with NEC contracts.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience with safety management within construction environments.
- Experience of working in operational railway environments/possessions is desirable.
- Relevant HSE training or site safety certifications are beneficial but can be obtained following discussion with the employer.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution is advantageous, but not a must.
