We are currently seeking a Senior Contract Manager to work with us on a project in Ireland. 



Responsibilities:
  • Ensure alignment and compliance with contract management standards, terms, and conditions (e.g., NEC suite) throughout all activities, reporting any non-compliance
  • Manage commercial relationships with contractors and consultants to drive continuous improvement in delivery
  • Review draft contracts, coordinate with advisors, and lead contractual negotiations, providing guidance to project leaders as needed
  • Review and approve subcontractors and their documentation; certify payments and assess defined costs, forecasts, and pain/gain shares under relevant contract options
  • Audit contractor/consultant accounts, conduct delay damages calculations, and review compensation event applications and payment requests
  • Establish and review contract management strategies, set and monitor KPIs in incentive schedules, and maintain a KPI library
  • Review and approve performance evaluations and improvement plans for contractors/consultants
  • Build and oversee a team of Contract Administrators, fostering collaboration within the project team
  • Provide assurance on tender processes, contract documentation, and contractor/consultant selection and appointment
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience, with at least 5 years of contract management, administration and NEC experience
  • At least Bachelor degree (Honours Bachelor Degree) (or equivalent) in relevant subject area e.g. Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, Cost and Commercial Management or similar
  • Master’s degree or Postgraduate Diploma in a related field would be advantageous
  • NEC Reg 
  • Chartered status with SCSI / RICS, IEI, ICE or equivalent
  • Detailed understanding and expertise in NEC contract management, particularly within the rail industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contracts for complex, large-scale projects such as metro rail initiatives
  • Proficient in overseeing contractor and consultant performance, and establishing robust performance management frameworks
  • Experienced in developing, implementing, and maintaining Key Performance Indicator libraries
  • Strong claims management expertise and proven experience with contract administration, especially in the NEC suite
  • Skilled at developing individual contract management strategies and putting them into effective practice
  • Effective in managing stakeholder relationships at all levels to drive process improvements and support successful project delivery and reporting
  • Adept at leading and managing contract administration teams
  • Advanced analytical and negotiation skills
  • Strong skills in report writing, presentations, and overall communication
  • Computer literate, with knowledge of contract management systems such as CEMAR and Unifier
