We are looking for a Superstructure Designer for Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting Serbia.
Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership & Management: Take full responsibility for the overall railway design process. Lead, coordinate, and review design outputs across all project stages, including conceptual, preliminary, building permit, and detailed design phases.
- Technical Documentation: Oversee the preparation of comprehensive textual, numerical, and graphic documentation, including situation plans, longitudinal profiles, cross-sections, and technical details.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all design work adheres to relevant local laws, international standards, technical specifications for interoperability (TSI), and internal quality protocols. Conduct rigorous reviews of documentation developed by third-party organizations.
- Coordination & Collaboration: Serve as the primary technical lead in coordinating with internal stakeholders, external partners, and subcontractors to ensure design integrity and project alignment.
- Strategic Project Support: Provide expert design preparation across various projects within the organization and perform necessary tasks to ensure successful project implementation and business continuity.
- Site Engagement: Perform occasional site visits as required to support project development and construction oversight.
Qualifications:
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering design, with at least 5 years of dedicated experience in railway design, specifically focusing on alignment, superstructure, and substructure.
- Licensure: Must hold a valid License 315 (or an equivalent certification as a Responsible Designer of Civil Engineering) issued by the Engineering Chamber of Serbia.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D and strong command of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Domain Knowledge: Expertise in railway alignment, superstructure, and substructure engineering and comprehensive understanding of local design regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Preferred Skills: Demonstrated experience managing or working on large-scale railway infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Professional Attributes: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, lead design reviews, and adapt to the evolving needs of the business.
