We are seeking a Systems Assurance and RAMS Manager (f/m/d) as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Abu Dhabi. The job opening is in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, coordinate, review, and approve System Assurance and RAMS processes and activities, ensuring contractor compliance with standards and contracts
- Review & Update System Assurance Management Plan, System Case Plan, RAM Plan, System Safety Plan, RAM Reports, Fire & Life Safety Strategy, System Assurance Plans, Hazard Log Management Procedure, Requirements Management Procedure, System Assurance: Software Management Plan, Human Factors Analysis & Ergonomics
- Quality assurance and quality control covering preconstruction and pre-manufacturing activities through to testing and commissioning, defect notification period and Taking Over
- Review, assess and accept the System Assurance and RAMS studies and deliverables submitted by the Client’s Contractors. Manage and monitor the implementation of the Engineering Safety Case Plan to ensure the compilation and delivery of the suite of Safety Cases /Integrated Safety Cases submitted by the Client’s Contractors
- Establish, implement, and cascade RAM, safety, and security assurance processes within the organization and to contractors
- Oversee and monitor the implementation of Safety Cases throughout all project phases, working with Independent Safety Assessors
- Supervise and monitor verification and validation activities, integrating safety tasks into development, testing, and V&V processes
- Manage the Project Hazard Log and hazard transfer to stakeholders while supporting safety certification procedures
- Support and participate in Safety Assurance Review Boards and Hazard Review Working Groups, preparing required information and presentations
- Use requirements management tools to monitor and evaluate contractor activities in requirements management and V&V
- Review and approve deliverables to ensure design and engineering compliance with codes, standards, technical specifications, and RAMS
- Oversee coordination and consistency of project documentation, manage configuration changes, and ensure BIM/asset data integrity
- Establish and run audit programs for quality assurance and System Assurance, identifying non-compliance and corrective actions
- Supervise and attend testing (factory/software), review related reports, and manage safety verification and certification (EN50126 V Cycle) processes
- University degree (preferably Master’s and/or Chartered Engineer status)
- Minimum 15 years of experience in managing design and/or construction of rail projects, specifically in System Assurance and RAMS
- Proven experience in High-Speed Rail (HSR) project implementation is highly preferable
- You must have a similar management position for at least one project of similar size
- Local Experience in Middle East and/or UAE project experience is advantageous
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills would be an advantage
- Strong knowledge and experience in ensuring compliance with contract requirements, codes, and standards
- Proven ability to establish and manage RAM, safety, and security assurance processes
- Experienced in hazard log management and supporting safety certification
- Proficient in requirements management tools and evaluation processes
