We are seeking a Systems Interface and Integration Manager (f/m/d) as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Abu Dhabi. The job opening is in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, coordinate, and control all internal and external interfaces of the project, including among contract packages, operators, and third-party stakeholders.
- Develop and implement the Interface Management Plan, detailing activities, roles, responsibilities, and standardized processes for identification, management, and resolution of interfaces throughout the project lifecycle (design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, handover).
- Review and approve Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Coordinated Interfaces Programmes (CIP) to ensure compliance and fulfilment of key project deadlines.
- Oversee interdisciplinary and cross-package interface coordination and clash detection to maintain full integration during design and construction phases.
- Ensure configuration management and support change management processes as needed.
- Supervise and coordinate integration activities between interfacing parties, including utility or third-party works.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables for compliance with integration requirements, standards, and stakeholder conditions.
- Manage and supervise testing and commissioning, including interface and integration testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and system demonstration tests. Interface type of test in the manufacturer’s facilities to witness, validate and prove conformance of the Interface between the different systems including the Rolling Stock on-board systems.
- Ensure that any non-compliance or failures are rectified in a timely manner to secure successful project completion.
- Maintain effective document management and control of all interface-related records and communication.
- Liaise with operators and stakeholders to ensure operational readiness and achievement of integrated project milestones.
- University degree (preferably Master’s and/or Chartered Engineer status)
- Minimum 15 years of experience in management of design and/or construction of rail projects, specifically in the required field of expertise
- Experience in delivering High-Speed Rail (HSR) projects is highly preferable
- Candidate must have held this position at least once before on a project of similar size
- Local Experience in Middle East and/or UAE project experience is advantageous
- Fluent in spoken and written English ins mandatory; Arabic language skills would be an advantage
- Proven track record in inspection, testing, commissioning, and supervision of rolling stock manufacturing, assembly, and installation (including key structural components, system and sub-systems, Factory Acceptance Testing, and pre-delivery inspections)
- Ability to manage and supervise testing and commissioning activities, review and approve test plans and reports, and ensure compliance with project requirements
- Strong project management, integration, quality assurance, and interface management skills
- Must provide references and detailed employment record, including roles and responsibilities on previous projects
