We are seeking a Design Manager. This position will be based in Lithuania.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the design process, including design development, review, and approval. Ensure adherence to project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Lead a team of designers and engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise. Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure effective communication within the team.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to align design requirements and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise during the project.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that design deliverables comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations. Conduct regular design reviews and audits to identify and address potential design deficiencies or risks.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to railway design. Provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure the implementation of innovative and efficient design solutions.
- Identify potential design risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on the project. Evaluate design changes and assess their potential implications on cost, schedule, and overall project performance.
- Prepare and maintain accurate design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. Generate progress reports, design updates, and other necessary documentation for project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to address design-related queries, provide clarifications, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Proactively identify design-related challenges and develop effective solutions in consultation with the project team. Troubleshoot design issues and provide technical support as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the design team by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality in the design process.
Qualifications:
- Very good (at least B2 level2) English language skills.
- Professional qualification/education according to the Country`s legislation.
- Experience as a design manager in at least one fully completed railway design project over the last 10 years (2013-2023) covering the following:
- design is completed until the date of submission of the Proposal;
- 1435 mm gauge and TSI verified railway;
- design speed above 200 km/h.
