Construction of Dual Gauge Double Line Between Joydebpur-Ishurdi Section Project
For this bid we are seeking an Electrical Engineer/Power Supply (f/m/d). The project focuses on Technical Assistance for review of feasibility study, detail-design for construction of dual gauge double line between Joydevpur and Ishudi section of Bangaldesh Railway.
Objective of this order: Joydebpur-Ishurdi is the railway communication backbone of Bangladesh as well as cross-border regional connectivity. Existence of single line and long distance between stations are the reasons of creating a bottleneck for train operation likely requiring more running time of trains and hindrance of increasing nos. of trains. With the carrying capacity of existing railway section, it is difficult to meet the national and regional demand of the fast-growing passenger and freight transportation.
Therefore, in order to meet increasing national and sub-regional traffic demand, GOB recognizes that the double tracking of Joydebpur-Ishurdi section has become essential for enhancing sectional capacity of this section.

Responsibilities:
- Survey and investigate the present condition of power supply and transmission system of JYR-ISD section as well as of Bangladesh electricity generation and supply network
- Coordinate with Facility Engineer in order to prepare design of power supply and electric traction facilities in railway track and other installations
- Prepare detailed design of power supply and transmission system for station/level crossing, station buildings etc.
- Check related regulation, standard and codes for electric power supply
- Arrange meeting with BR/PIU and other authorities
- Strengthen communication network with local stakeholders
- Assist in preparation of cost estimate, technical specifications and reports
Qualifications:
- Graduate in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the design of electrical engineering for railways / power supply design
- Fluency in English is mandatory and other local language would be an advantage
- Analytical and decision making skills along with great communication is necessary
