We are seeking a Telecommunication Systems for Railways Expert as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Branch Office.

The job opening is located in Cairo, Egypt, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the general project management and site supervision of railway telecommunication systems & equipment, including radio, SCADA, CCTV, fibre optic backbone, etc..
- Support the employer in the procurement of the works contract for telecom system modernization ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Lead the design review and engineering of telecommunication systems & equipment, including Radio, SCADA and CCTV Systems as well as Fiber Optic networks.
- Provide expert knowledge and advice the Employer in technical issues related to installation, operation and maintenance of modern telecommunication systems and equipment for rail transport.
- Oversee the installation, testing and commissioning of telecom equipment and components, incl. cable networks.
- Develop and implement comprehensive testing procedures for telecom systems, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Troubleshoot and resolve telecom system issues, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with project manager and other engineering teams to integrate telecom systems with overall railway infrastructure and systems, especially the signalling and train control system.
- Assisting in the preparation of progress reports and other deliverables.
- Strong background in coordination of activities of Contractor and Client.
Qualifications:
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. Degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in project management, design review, site supervision as well as testing and commissioning related to Telecommunications, SCADA and CCTV Systems as well as Fiber Optic networks in Railways.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in similar position.
- Experience in the organization and supervision of the installation, testing and commissioning of telecommunication in rail transport projects, including Radio systems, SCADA systems, CCTV systems, Fiber Optic networks.
- Previous experience with comparable projects in the Middle East region would be advantage.
- Full computer literacy.
- Excellent knowledge of English Language; Knowledge of Arabic language is an advantage.
