What will you be doing?
You will be answering customer questions, primarily on twitter on the National Rail Enquiries twitter account, about real-time train disruptions, ticket queries, fares information etc.
Sending out information about engineering works and other railway activities.
You will provide concise, consistent and accurate information to customers during times of disruption on the railway network.
Interpreting railway jargon into customer friendly information and advice.
Providing support to Train Operating Companies with updating travelling customers.
Add information to the National Rail Enquiries website for large events.
You will work closely with the Train Operating Companies to provide up to date station information.
Working to a high standard in order to achieve quality and timing targets.
Seeking out relevant information provided by Train Operating Companies and Network Rail and retweeting to National Rail Enquiries customers.
You are required to work on a 4 week rolling roster, which includes working weekend.

Remaining customer focused at all times in ensuring the information provided is informative, easy to understand and up to date.
Able to adapt well to changes in process and comfortable with changing information that comes in live to ensure the best quality of information is delivered to the public.
You will be able to show excellent attention to detail, not just in your own work but also the rest of the teams to ensure quality is constant.

We offer a starting salary of £22,489 increasing to £24,043 per annum once full competency has been reached. Due to the shifts required you will also be eligible to an additional allowance of £4,302 per annum.

IntroductionWe are currently recruiting for a Social Media Controller to join our National Rail Communications Centre (NRCC) based at our Head Officer in Doncaster on a 12 month fixed term contract. The National Rail Communication Centre (NRCC) supports UK Train Operating Companies by communicating the latest travel information via National Rail Enquiries, empowering passengers to make an informed decision about their journey. As a Social Media Controller you will be responding to customer queries on the National Rail Enquiries Twitter account, addressing issues like train disruptions, ticket info, and fares. Your role includes sharing details on engineering works, disruptions, and railway activities, while translating railway jargon into clear, customer-friendly advice. The NRCC operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from DB Cargo UK in Doncaster. This role is part of our social media team which operates between 06:00-22:00, 7 days a week. That starting salary for this position is £22,489 increasing to £24,043 per annum once full competency has been reached. Due to the shifts required you will also be eligible to an additional allowance of £4,302 per annum.
